Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Oosterhouse!
Amy Smart said “I do” to HGTV’s Carter Oosterhouse on Saturday, Us Weekly exclusively confirms.
“We feel so excited and blessed to celebrate this happy day with our family and friends,” the newlyweds told Us in a statement.
The Shameless actress, 35, and the Carter Can host, 34, married in Traverse City, Michigan with 215 guests in attendance. “He’s from there and my parents live there, so it’s been my second home since I was very young,” Smart explained of the Midwestern locale.
While the bride stunned in a Carolina Herrera gown, her eight bridesmaids all wore navy Ann Taylor dresses.
Smart and Oosterhouse met by chance at a green-charity event in November 2010. An insider told Us: “He’s an eco-carpenter; Amy drives a hybrid and is the greenest girl I know. They are perfect for each other.” The source added: “Here are two wholesome, kind, sweet Midwestern types. Neither has sold out and gone Hollywood.”
Amy Smart is teaming up with LovingEco, a hot new ethical flash sale site, to help raise funds for the Environmental Media Association. She has selected some of her absolute favorite eco-finds including Josie Maran Cosmetics, fabulous dresses from LTR, stylish sustainable jewelry from Kyler Designs, sunglasses from Kayu, sexy swimsuits from Kelly B and more fun dresses from Curator.
LovingEco gives consumers all the style they want, but without the guilt. They host weekly sales (items up to 70% off) with companies that produce ethical items. What does ethical mean? Well, they label each product with terms like cruelty free, vegan, fair trade, recycled, made in the USA and organic.
In addition to introducing awesome responsible companies to kind-hearted fashionistas, they donate 3% to charity. How does a charity get chosen? LovingEco has a different eco-influential “tastemaker” each week who curates a boutique featuring the best products from that week’s brands. The tastemaker chooses which charity gets the cash.
This week, actress Amy Smart will be the tastemaker for LovingEco. By signing up for LovingEco’s daily deals, you’ll get the inside scoop on Smart’s eco style picks and, of course, the ability to buy ethical items at a nice discount.
Amy isn’t just in it for the fashion. She is the chairperson for the Environmental Media Association’s Young Hollywood Board. The EMA believes that through television, film and music, the entertainment community can affect change in a positive way. That means if you see a character on your favorite show coming home from shopping with his or her reusable bag, the EMA might have talked to the writers about including that eco-friendly behavior. They were also the smarty pants behind getting celebs to drive hybrid cars to award shows instead of riding in gas guzzling limos.

She’s in the middle of planning the wedding of her dreams, but Amy Smart says there’s no reason for her to get hung up on the details – she has her fiancé, HGTV star Carter Oosterhouse for that.
“[He's] very hands on, the actress, 35, told Hollyscoop. “He has definitely been my co-pilot with this. He has a good eye for things.”
“The planning is going great,” she adds. “There’s way more details than I ever expected.”
And while she’s entrusting the designer/carpenter, 34, with many of the elements of their September nuptials, there’s one that’s off limits from her man: the dress.
“It’s all picked out, but I’m not telling [who designed it],” she added. “I can’t even tell my fiancé, I can’t tell anyone else.”
The couple started dating last November and got engaged in April.
Only 43 days to go until Amy Smart becomes Mrs. Carter Oosterhouse!
“We’re getting married September 10,” the Shameless actress, 35, told Us Weekly Thursday at the Ella Moss 10-year Anniversary Celebration in West Hollywood. “We’ve had about five months for planning, so it’s more condensed than normal, but it’s kind of perfect because it feels like we have the momentum.”
Around 200 guests have been invited to the “rustic” ceremony in northern Michigan. “He’s from there and my parents live there, so it’s been my second home since I was very young,” she explained of the Midwestern locale. “I’m excited to get married!”
Smart and HGTV’s Oosterhouse, 34, met by chance at a green-charity event in November 2010. Five months into their relationship, the two confirmed their engagement to Us at an Earth Day event in NYC.
Hollywood’s got wedding fever!
Everyone tuned in to watch the Royal Wedding. Women in the UK and US tried to buy knock-off versions of Kate’s dress. Now, Kim Kardashian and her fiancé are planning the Royal Wedding 2.0. Why is everyone so obsessed with weddings we ask?
Hollyscoop talked to Amy Smart , known best for playing Ryan Reynolds love interest in “Just Friends,” and recently appeared on Showtime hit “Shameless,” and she gave us her opinion.
Smart thinks people are interested in weddings for several reasons, “women love love. They love the romance and fairytale wedding, but they also love drama. They like to see if relationships work out or if people will get back together. It’s the highs and lows of Hollywood.”
We asked if she watched the Royal Wedding too, “it was fun watching. I’m not one of those girls that’s been dreaming their entire life about their wedding, but I think there’s a little girl inside of me that can appreciate other girls weddings,” she shared at the grand opening of Lexington Social House
So did she pick up any wedding tips? Smart is engaged to former Trading Spaces carpenter and HGTV star, Carter Oosterhouse, so the two have a wedding in their near future too.
“I’m getting married too. It’s all very exciting when people get married, it’s great. The planning is going great. There’s way more details than I ever expected. It’s September 10th in Northern Michigan.”
Can we expect to see Smart join the league of pregnant Hollywood moms? We asked if she see’s kids in her future, “we would definitely like to,” she tells us.
John Cena’s latest film, formerly titled Blood Brothers, will now be called Family Reunion. Here is a synopsis of the film…
“In the film, the Cleary brothers, Sam (JOHN CENA), Leo (ETHAN EMBRY) and Douglas (BOYD HOLBROOK) take dysfunctional families to a new level: Sam and Leo have grown up hating each other and neither likes their juvenile delinquent kid brother, Douglas, to whom they’ve only recently been introduced. The sons share the same father, a womanizing drunk, but all have different mothers. Their father died a rich man and when they’re brought together by their sister Nina (AMY SMART) to learn which of them will inherit the old man’s fortune, they are handed an unpleasant surprise.
A requirement of the will is that the three estranged siblings go into business together. Their first job is to bring in a parole violator, who has left Leo, a bail bondsman, with a $250,000 debt. Their search will take them into the mountains of Mexico where they encounter a drug lord and uncover a kidnapping plot, masterminded by an embittered entrepreneur (MICHAEL RISPOLI) that will endanger them all.”
