Back Stage readers and a guest are invited to the premiere of “Seventh Moon,” the latest horror film from the creators of “The Blair Witch Project.” Screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s star Amy Smart (“Just Friends”) and filmmaker Eduardo Sanchez.

While on their honeymoon in China, Melissa (Amy Smart) and Yul (Tim Chiou) discover the exotic “Hungry Ghost” festival, which honors spirits in the market of a small town.

But as night falls, they find themselves abandoned by their driver in a remote village—and soon realize the legends are all too real. Plunged into an ancient custom they cannot comprehend, the couple must find a way to survive the night of the Seventh Moon.

Director Eduardo Sanchez (“The Blair Witch Project”) helms his latest unnerving chiller.

Amy to co-star in “Columbus Circle”

Amy will be part of the principle cast for the new thriller “Columbus Circle”. The movie also stars Selma Blair, Jason Lee, Giovanni Ribisi, Beau Bridges and Kevin Pollack.

“Circle” centers on a reclusive heiress (Blair) in an upscale Manhattan apartment building who is brought face-to-face with her fears when a detective (Ribisi) shows up to investigate a homicide next door and a new couple (Smart and Lee) moves in to that apartment. Pollak plays the building’s concierge and one of the heiress’ few friends. Jason Antoon has also been cast in the pic.

The film is now shooting in Los Angeles.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment and Ghost House Underground have given Fango the on-line premiere of their trailer for SEVENTH MOON, the supernatural thriller they’re releasing on DVD later this year. You can see the preview, which we debuted at our West Coast convention this past weekend, below.
SEVENTH MOON, directed and co-written by THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT’s Eduardo Sanchez, stars Amy Smart (currently on screen in Lionsgate’s highly recommended CRANK: HIGH VOLTAGE) and Tim Chiou as a honeymooning couple who run afoul of ancient spirits in China. Other movies coming later this year from Lionsgate and Ghost House Underground include Tom Shankland’s much-praised THE CHILDREN and Andrew van den Houten’s Jack Ketchum adaptation OFFSPRING.

“Mirrors” Captures

I have uploaded captures of Amy in “Mirrors” into our photo gallery. Please note that some of the captures contain gore and large amounts of blood – please view at your own risk. Amy does die in this film and her scene is probably the most bloody in the whole movie… The parts where she is alive – she looks really great! lol
